At your first visit to our office you will have a complete tour
of the office and meet all the staff. Diagnostic records will
be taken to determine the best course of treatment. Complete
diagnostic records typically include medical/dental history,
clinical examination , plaster study models of the teeth, photos
of the patient’s face and teeth, and x-rays. This information
is used to develop a custom treatment plan for each patient.
These records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment
as the teeth move under orthodontic care.
After the doctor has evaluated your records, we discuss your
treatment with you in detail, including the cost of your particular
case.
The appointment for you to get your braces on will take about
an hour. We do these appointments in the morning, when it is quiet,
to allow you to have Dr. Margolis’ undivided attention.
Your follow up appointments are usually every 6-8 weeks after
that and we will be glad to schedule these after school hours.
The follow up visits are usually very quick. Occasionally you
may need a longer appointment and we have to schedule these in
the mornings and early afternoons. We work very hard on our schedule
and take pride in the fact that we rarely run late!
The cost of treatment depends on many factors such as the severity
of the problem, the type of treatment and how long that treatment
will take. These factors are all taken into account when determining
a fee and you will always be able to discuss fees and payment
options before any treatment begins. The fees presented by us
are for your treatment in this office only. Sometime Dr. Margolis
will recommend services from other dental professionals and their
fees are totally separate.
We offer a variety of payment options for your convenience:
- Our in office finance plan requires a down payment and monthly
payments. Payments are due on the first of each month. We do
not charge interest on accounts that are kept current however,
if payments are not made by the 10th of the month a late fee
and interest may be added.
- We will give a courtesy discount
for accounts that are paid in full at the start of treatment.
- We
will provide you with information about Capital One Healthcare
Finance. Their flexible programs offer you other payment options
with a low interest rate.
We also accept VISA and Mastercard.
If your financial situation changes we will work with you to devise
an alternative payment plan.
We accept orthodontic insurance as a courtesy to our patients
and will be happy to work with you to determine your coverage and
receive all the benefits you are entitled to under your plan.
Most orthodontic insurance policies have a set lifetime maximum
amount for benefits and the methods for payment of these benefits
vary. Usually the payments are spread over the course of the treatment
and are paid either monthly or quarterly. If you change jobs or
your employer changes insurance carriers your benefits may change
and it is very important that you let us know. If for any reason
your insurance does not pay the full estimated benefit you will
be responsible for the unpaid balance.
